Students and staff at Shenandoah University are fighting violence with dance moves.
A flash mob at the student center on Friday was the university's way of bringing attention to the issue of violence against women.
This effort is part of 'One Billion Rising' which is a worldwide movement.
The coordinator of the event describes why she got involved.
"I was raped in high school and I don't think that's ok at all," said Elizabeth Britton. "I never spoke out against it, so I want to make sure that my voice is heard through dance."
One in three women on the planet will be a victim of rape or domestic abuse in their lifetime, which totals one billion women.
Organizers say instead of one billion victims, it's one billion rising to motivate change.
