For many businesses in Old Town Winchester, the construction is hurting them. But it's not scaring some new one's from opening.
A catering company is opening on Boscawen Street near Sucilee's. A new Mexican restaurant is moving in to where the Daily Grind used to be.
It's supposed to open by the first week in April. And a new boutique, Fashion Worthy, is opening next to Union Jack's in June.
"Just the rustic character of [the buildings] is unique," said Owner of Encore Design Build Co. John Johnson. "Challenging at times dealing with the old piping and the old electrical work, but it's exciting and it's neat to see these buildings starting to be revitalized and revamped."
Encore Design Build Company is working on getting both the old Daily Grind building and the new boutique ready for business.
