After hitting a home run, Nationals top prospect Bryce Harper was rounding third and taunted Greensboro pitcher Zach Neal, by blowing him a kiss, during the Single A Hagerstown Suns home game. In Harper's next at bat, relief pitcher Grant Dayton threw at him, backing Harper off the plate. Two pitches later Harper flew out to the warning track. The 18-year-old Harper was 2 for 4 with a solo home run in the game.

TV3 Winchester caught up with Harper and Suns Manager Brian Daubach on Harper's time in Hagerstown.

I watched this video and I saw a very immature baseball player with a lot of talent. There are posts complaining about the pitcher staring him down while running the bases-as long as he admired his HR I would have stared him down too. I watched Bob Gibson pitch andif this guy had done that against Gibby he would have worn a Rawlings INSIDE of his ear. It's one thing to watch a HR-most ballplayers do. But to sit and admire it...almost 5 seconds before he started his "trot"....is going to invoke LOTS of brush backs and plunkings. And his "brushback" pitch was nothing more than a high fastball with some over reaction. That ball wasn't even CLOSE to his head!

When I pitched I would have rung his bell the next time up. That was not a brush back pitch. I would not have even been shy about it. It would have been a hard high fastball to the head. My kiss returned :)

This is ridiculous, all of you hating on him! He blew the pitcher a kiss, so what? Yeah, it was immature, but he's 18. What do you expect? Cut the kid some slack.
