McKesson to create 205 jobs in Frederick County

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- McKesson Corp. plans to open a distribution facility in Frederick County that will create 205 jobs.

Gov. Bob McDonnell said Monday that McKesson plans to invest $36.9 million in the facility. It will be McKesson's third operation in Frederick County.

The facility will distribute medical and surgical supplies to physician offices, surgery centers, long-term care facilities and home care businesses in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, eastern West Virginia, and northern North Carolina.

McDonnell approved a $150,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to help Frederick County with the project. McKesson will receive funding and services from the Virginia Department of Business Assistance to support recruitment, training and retraining.
