Man Charged in Heroin Overdose of 13 Year Old

Two weeks ago, we told you about a 13-year-old in the hospital for a heroin overdose. Today, we've learned that the man, police say, gave the teen heroin is behind bars.

This man, Michael Windsor, is the boyfriend of the 13 year old's grandmother. Police say, his grandmother called police for help. When they got to the house in Stephens City on June 26th, they found the teen. He was taken to Winchester Medical Center where he was treated and released.

"You don't want to see that. You know it really pulls at your heart strings to see someone that young already involved in the drug culture especially a harsh drug such as heroin which is a Schedule 1 substance in Virginia," said Drug Task Force Lt. Al Sibert.

Windsor is being held without bond. Police say, he's charged with child endangerment and for providing heroin. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Ron Fox at the Stephens City Police Department at 540-868-1012.
