UPDATE:
State police are investigating a fatal accident that happened at mile marker four on Interstate 66.
The crash happened just before 7 PM, Tuesday.
Additional accidents happened on Interstate 81.
State police say the first happened around 2:40 Tuesday afternoon at mile marker 298.5 on I-81 southbound.
This caused traffic to back up in both southbound lanes on 81.
At 2:45 PM, state police say two tractor trailers slowed for the traffic in both the right and left hand lanes.
They were struck by a third tractor trailer heading south.
The accident forced that third truck into a bridge and caused $50,000 in damage to the structure, according to VDOT.
The truck was driven by 26-year-old Fancisco J. Cerda-Vautista from McLaren, Texas and was taken to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

As of 3:40 PM Tuesday June 12 - Motorists should expect major delays along I-81S.
Virginia State Police are responding to more than one accident at mile marker 299 in Shenandoah County.
The south left shoulder, left lane, right lane, and right shoulder are closed. Traffic backups are approximately 2.0 miles.
Traffic backed up to MM 302 in Frederick County.
