With Friday's hot weather, some local dogs went inside to get a special kind of work out.

It's a dog agility event at the Sportsplex in Kernstown.

There are different kinds of events the dogs take part in, including plenty with jumps, weaves and obstacles

“Agility events are just absolutely fantastic,” says judge Lisa Dempsey, who also competes in similar events. “It's a great way to get out and be with your dog and bond with them. There's those dogs that have a lot of drive and a lot of excitement and just the challenge of teaching them how to go in things and around things and over things and under things.”

The event will continue through Sunday and goes from 8:00 a.m. until about 6:00 p.m. each day.

The public is invited to come out and watch.
