Woodmen of the World Lodge 34 of Winchester hosted active military and law enforcement officials at an event Saturday to show appreciation for their hard work.
"America's got its problems, can't argue that. You know what? It's things like that that make us the great country we relaly are. You have to remind people, you have to remember sacrifices people made in order to allow us the freedoms we have," says Wayne Graham, President of the local Vietnam Veterans of America group.
Another goal of the event was to thank active military and law enforcement officials for their service.
"They're asked to do sometimes some pretty thankless jobs. We want to take just a minute and say thank you. Honor them with a little appreciation, some free food and a handshake and say thank you for a job well done," says Pastor Phil Roby, who is also president of Woodmen of the World Lodge 34 of Winchester. "If they leave feeling a little gratitude and feeling a little bit of thanks for what we've done today, then our job has been accomplished and we're glad about that."
