Businesses are getting ready for the cold week ahead.
While we didn't see snow Tuesday, it certainly was bitterly cold and it kept people in.
With the colder weather, people tend to cut back on running errands before and after work.
So when people stay inside, local business hurts. Some businesses say it's something that happens every winter.
Herb Melrath owns the Main Street Daily Grind in Front Royal and he says he's seen a pattern.
"People do stay in. When it gets really cold out, people don't come out. And when it gets really, really cold... they don't even want to come out for coffee. Normally, January and February are our slowest months. So we try to get through January and February and pick back up into March," said Melrath.
Melrath says this week has been pretty steady.
While he has a loyal customer base, he was surprised to see how many people are braving the cold to get their 'Cup of Joe.'
