John Kerr Elementary School in Winchester is officially 40 years old and they're celebrating.
On Friday, February 22nd at 6pm, alumni, students, staff and anyone who wants to support John Kerr elementary is invited to the school for tours and a "Fill the Bowl Soup and Salad Dinner."
The dinner will benefit the school's music program so they can build on to the instrument collection.
Folks can either take a tour of the school on their own or have someone show them the ropes.
Leaders at the school are very excited.
"I'm also the parent of two children who spent all of their elementary years here. We had such a wonderful experience. My husband and I were both involved as volunteers, and to come back and be the principal of this school is just really special to me," said Principal, Dr. Nan Bryant.
Leaders say to come to the event hungry and be ready for a bowl of soup and salad!
