One local woman has always loved to bake and now she's making a career out of it.
Meghan Moeslein is renovating a space on Main Street in Front Royal for her soon-to-be bakery store front: Baked Bagels & More.
The idea of having a bakery on Main Street is something she says was an easy pitch to the town, community and other businesses.
Front Royal has been trying to attract new businesses to their downtown area, and a bakery was the perfect addition.
"It's that experience of... I remember being a kid and my dad would take me to the bakery every Saturday. And that was the best memory in the world. And I want to be able to create that for people here and bring that part of my life to them and my daughter," said Moeslein.
Right now, the shop is about 90 days away from opening. But they have a lot of work to do before then. They're located at 218 E. Main Street in the Goldsmith's Jewelers building.
"We're going to bring that back and restore the historic aspect of it because it was original to this property. And this property has been here forever. So we want to bring that back a little bit and revitalize Main Street. And kind of bring the historic and bring the new... it should be a good process. But we're really working our fingers to the bones to make sure we can get open as quickly as possible," said Moeslein.
They've already been taking orders and are building partnerships with other downtown businesses.
As far as hiring employees, they'll be holding open interviews in the next couple of months for two part-time positions. We'll keep you updated.
