Eight Frederick County Public Schools have been named "Virgina Focus Schools".
They didn't meet new standards on Virginia's standards of learning tests last year. The new standards are taking the place of no child left behind.
With the test results, one county school, Indian Hollow Elementary, will get a state-approved coach to help boost performance.
On the other hand, ten of the county's schools did meet the new objectives on the tests. Leaders say student performance on standardized tests is just one measure of a school's success.
