The City of Winchester is looking into creating a spot where about 1,000 people can be in the same place at the same time whether it be for a banquet, a meeting, or even a wedding.
Economic Development Authority Director Jim Deskins says they're going to do a feasibility study for a future convention center. Deskins says they expect to get proposals back by the end of this month. The study will show if a convention center makes sense in Winchester. It will also offer suggestions about where and how big it should be. City councilors say it should be in the downtown area.
Deskins says some possible options are the Winchester Towers and the Moose Club or a parking lot area.
