UPDATE Monday, 3:40 p.m.: Members of a family escaped from this house fire in Frederick County Monday morning.
Fire and rescue crews had to shut down Stephenson Road in the county to get to the flames.
Teenager, Colton Miller, who was home at the time of the fire says he thinks it began in the basement. He had to think quickly in order to get out alive.
"We were in my bedroom, and I smelled smoke coming up through the vent. I thought it was something on fire in the venting. We went downstairs. In the bedroom where the toys are, it was caught on fire. I ran upstairs, because I have no phone here, and ran to my next door neighbors to call the cops. My brother came across the street with the kids," he explained.

The Red Cross is working to help the five adults and five children who lived there find shelter and get some basic needs. The house will need extensive repairs before it will be inhabitable again.
Donations for the familiy can be dropped off three to six p.m. each day this week at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Stephenson. The church says gift cards to places like Target and Wal-mart would be most helpful at this point.
