Frederick County Public School students who took the SAT last school year have something to brag about.
Overall, the students beat the national average and were on par with other kids in the Commonwealth.
A record number of Frederick County students took the college entrace exam -- almost 500 kids.
They beat last year's mean score by 9 points and came in at 1512.
The SAT includes three components -- reading, math and writing. Each section is worth 800 points, making 2400 a perfect score.
