The Next Generation of Professionals group is holding a donation drive for students in need during the winter break.
Canned food and coats are being donated to the drive from members of the community. These items will go to students who rely on school meals and will be without them over the school break.
"We ultimately didn't have a goal," said Cort Maddox, chairman of the NGP group. "We had kind of come up with this last minute idea trying to find where there was a hole that we could try to assist with. We have a lot of people in the NGP group that are very passionate about helping kids and helping families that are hungry."
Eight different students and their families will receive food from the donation drive.
The last day to donate is Tuesday.
Donation bins are set up at the George Washington hotel, locations of the Bank of Clarke County, the Willows and First Citizen's bank.
