RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Delegate L. Scott Lingamfelter says he's running for lieutenant governor in 2013.
The Prince William Republican says he filed his candidate qualification Thursday to seek the GOP nomination next year.
Lingamfelter has served in the House of Delegates since 2002. He retired from the Army as a colonel in 2001.
He says issues his campaign will focus on include jobs, addressing Virginia's infrastructure needs, government reform, improving secondary and higher education opportunities and energy exploration.
Incumbent Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli are competing for the 2013 GOP gubernatorial nomination.
