Dennis Wymer and Connie Lamothe came together by chance while Wymer was out on the walking mall painting.
As the contemporary artist put it, "It was one of those fate things, you know, the moon and stars line up."
Lamothe, the director of The Reunion, didn't want to miss out on the opportunity. She immediately thought of C-CAP.
She says, "When I realized that I was going to premiere the film around Thanksgiving, I started thinking 'what can I do?' This is just a little way that we can give back so we're just really glad that we can do that."
Wymer tells TV3 the market value for his painting is $900. Raffle tickets cost just two. He says this is a treat for him. "It's not often that my paintings can go to help someone. It's usually either going to a gallery or going to a client or a collector."
Wymer says he would jump at the chance to do this again.
"I did the easy work. There are people out there who are struggling.
If a painting can help feed a family or warm their house....how many paintings do I have to paint? Just let me know."
