State Police say, two teenagers were injured after hitting a utility pole and flipping on Route 50 in Frederick County
Sgt. Tyler tells TV3 that 19-year-old Kayla Smith from Winchester is charged with reckless driving. Smith and her passenger, 19-year-old Erin Brenna from New Jersey were both wearing their seat belts.
Initially, law enforcement at the scene said that it was a mother and child involved in the crash.
The westbound lanes were closed for a short time at the start of rush hour near Hogue Creek Lane.

State Police tell TV3 that a mother and child are being treated at Winchester Medical Center for injuries from a crash.
Troopers say, traffic is moving through the area now, despite part of the westbound side being blocked.
They tell TV3 that the mother and child have non-life threatening injuries after their car flipped on Route 50.

Frederick County Dispatchers say, Route 50 Westbound is closed near Hogue Creek Lane.
Emergency crews are responding to a crash involving a car that flipped. No word on injuries. TV3 has a crew on the way to the scene and will have updates online and on the air.
