As the roads clear up over the next few days, there are several ways you can get a preview of what you can expect on the roads. You can check out TV3's traffic cameras, or you can go to the official website for Virginia's traffic, www.va511.org.
When the roads are slippery with ice, you don't want to take chances and get tangled up in a wreck, especially when you're already running late for work.
Virginia 511's website and the mobile app are a great ways to know what you're getting into before you leave your house.
On the website, you can customize all the different settings to get a completely different view of the streets. Check for road work, accidents, and other road-way incidents.
Probably one of the best features of this website are the traffic cameras. You can click on all the cameras on your commute at the "weather or "get connected" tab on our home menu.
The mobile app is great for those times you're not near a computer, or if you are riding as a passenger and there's a bad accident.
You can check the cameras for the driver.
And don't forget to sign up for TV3 mobile text alerts to get traffic updates right to your phone.
