Local residents are celebrating Patsy Cline's 80th birthday this weekend with events in Winchester.
Extra tours are being given at the Patsy Cline house on S. Kent Street.
The historian of Celebrating Patsy Cline says it's important for people in our area to remember Patsy.
"It's important cause this is Patsy's 80th birthday. It seems like she's been with us forever but sadly she only lived to 30 years," says Douglas Gomery, who has written a book about Patsy. "I think she's a part of the historical fabric that identifies Winchester as a unique place. It is where she grew up. It is where she taught herself to sing. It's where she made her first connections."
Gomery adds that he hopes they continue holding birthday celebrations for Patsy in the future.
