----------------------------------------
Winchester and Frederick County Fire and Rescue Crews are investigating the cause of a house fire at 128 Country Park Drive.
Crews responded to the scene around 6 a.m. Monday.
"Crews went in and did an aggressive attack, knocked the fire down, and we're in the process of doing some salvage and overhaul at this time," said Winchester Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief, Matt Dehaven.
Dehaven says two women were inside of the house when it started, but they were able to get out safely on their own.
However, the same cannot be said for some animals.
"We believe we have some cats that were in the home. When we arrived we had a dog and cat outside already, but we believe we still have more cats inside that we're searching for," said Dehaven.
A neighbor said she could hear the two women yelling for help trying to save the animals. She ran outside and saw the fire coming out of the window of her neighbor's home.
Crews and the American Red Cross are still on the scene.
