McDonnell is asking the Federal Emergency Management Agency to
pay for damage to public infrastructure, debris removal and related
emergency services in 14 localities. He's seeking reimbursement for
those items as well as snow removal for 26 additional localities.
McDonnell also is asking FEMA to consider the impact in an
additional 43 localities that did not meet the snowfall threshold,
but had significant snow removal costs.
Some parts of northern and northwestern Virginia got more than
three feet of snow in early February, then an additional five to 15
inches days later. Other areas also got heavy snow.
