The Second Annual Business Symposium was held at the Byrd School of Business. Three keynote speakers focused on connecting your way to the top, defining your core with organizational alignment, and how to make winning presentations.
"The university and the Byrd School of Business is here to help them," says Dean Randy Boxx, emcee of the event. "We are a community resource, we have students, we have faculty, we have a great advisory board, and any way we can help them with their educational needs or other type needs that they might have, we want them to know that we are there," adds Dean Boxx.
Many new business leaders and owners spent the afternoon learning how to effectively use technology and the right strategy to secure funding.
"One of the things we added this year is that we included a number of students and we have at least 15-20 students that are here basically on scholarship so that they can get the benefit of this symposium," adds 2010 Business Symposium Chair Suzanne Conrad.
