The Clarke County Historical Association is opening a museum that tells the story of Clarke County.

The "Our Land is Our Legacy" museum on East Main Street in Berryville has artifacts and documentation that spans 250 years ago to the present.

The history of Clarke County includes the story of settlement, land use, and land stewardship. "The theme of "Our Land is Our Legacy" came from that and the county still speaks so much of this agricultural heritage that we have and the attempts to preserve that," says Executive Director Jennifer Lee.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no charge to visit the museum.

It is a terrific walk through the history of Clarke...and free! I intend to bring family and friends to this unique experience over the holidays. Some interesting publications and framed historical pictures available in the museum shop too.
