Three people were rushed to the hospital late Tuesday night after an accident on Route 50 East in Clarke County.
According to Virginia State Police, a car in the right lane swerved into the left lane to avoid a deer, causing another car in the left lane to swerve and then over-correct. The care landed in a ditch.
The passengers were temporarily trapped in the vehicle. According to rescue officials, the three suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Trooper A.D. Seal says accidents like this can be avoided, if drivers remain alert behind the wheel.
"Just as long as everyone pays attention and does the way they should, stays in their lane, traffic flows pretty well," said Seal.
The Virginia State Police say alcohol and speed were not a factor in this accident
