A rescue attempt was unsuccessful at Sherando Park. Officials say a 14-year-old boy is dead.

Crews were searching the Sherando lake for a 14-year-old boy. He was last seen in the middle of the lake, wearing black trunks and no shirt.

Emergency crews received the call shortly after 5:00 PM Thursday. The rescue team pulled a body out of the water shortly before 7:00 PM.
