After 34 years in the Clarke County School system, Brenda Jones is turning a new leaf.

Jones spent her entire teaching career in Clarke County. She started out as an instructional assistant at Berryville Primary School in 1970, and worker her way through the ranks.

The veteran educator says she leaves with no regrets and she will miss teaching. "I reflect on my experiences and they've been good.I've worked with talented and gifted educators and wonderful children and families. I have a lot of wonderful memories and I'm going to take them with me," says Jones.

Jones' family moved to Clarke County from Lancaster, PA when she was 15. She doesn't plan to leave Clarke County, Jones hasn't decided exactly what to do after retirement.

For now, Jones wants to spend more time with her two year old grandson.

Superintendent Michael Murphy says administrators will start a search for Jones' replacement in the coming weeks.
