It's been a staple in Berryville for more than 60 years. After closing its doors in January the Berryville News Stand will reopen under new management.
New owner Glen Masters hopes to reopen the news stand in the middle of May under the same name. He plans to bring back the newspapers, sell local produce, and Black Dog Coffee which is roasted in nearby Summit Point, West Virginia.
Masters says Berryville wasn't the same without the news stand. "It's been a fixture for 60 years. It's been a nerve center, a social gathering place, and when they closed the doors it just really left a void on Main Street," says Masters.
Masters says there are still coffee cups at the news stand from those that would regularly stop in. He says he can't wait to open up, give the coffee cups back to their owners with some coffee in them.

If you haven't had fresh roasted coffee("so fresh you'll want to slap it"), you've got to try beans roasted just a few days before brewing. A taste sensation. AND it's supporting a local business.
I'm glad to hear this! Having lived in Berryville for 20 years, the news stand was definitly a vital part of the community!
