A local restaurant reopens under new management. Lone Oak Restaurant has been in Clarke County since 1920.

In January, Terry Spinosa and Jim Tebbetts bought Lone Oak. They decided to keep the name because of its history. The restaurant was named after a white oak tree that stood on the original site of the restaurant. The oak tree was destroyed and the restaurant was moved by the state to make room for Route 50.

Spinosa says he and Tebbetts didn't mind taking a chance in a tough economy. "This is a landmark for Clarke County so we felt that what better an opportunity especially when times are tough, to give people a place where they can go where they can eat and drink at very reasonable prices, it's close to home," says Spinosa.

The grand opening of Lone Oak Restaurant is scheduled for April 3rd.
