More than 100,000,000 people in poverty stricken countries are in need of a wheelchair and do not have one.

27 years ago the sight of a crippled Moraccan woman crawling on a dirt road was enough to create an epiphany for Don Schoendorfer.

He created an inexpensive wheelchair that for only fifty dollars can be produced and shipped away to provide someone less fortunate a new lease on life.

Like a bicycle the wheelchair is universal, whether it's going to Rwanda, Afghanistan, or Cambodia

Winchester resident Debbie Franklin is a represenative for the free wheel chair mission. On a recent trip to Peru, the opportunity to present the chairs in person is a moment she will hold close for a long time to come.
