Business is booming in Winchester. Developers broke ground for a new facility Wednesday. A flex tech center at Annandale Industrial Park will create employment and business opportunities in the Shenandoah Valley.

The project has been in the works for three years and is finally coming to life. "Projects such as this will continue to push the envelope and postion the Winchester market as one that will be agressive in attracting businesses," says Charles Weiss, president of the Top Virginia Regional Chamber.

The flex tech center is the first of it's kind in Winchester. Developers anticipated needs in the community and took advantage of a chance to boost economic growth. "Growth is fueled by expansion. Expansion is fueled by a place to put your business. Without this kind of development, there's really no place for the type of business that uses flex tech to go. By providing this space it also provides a chance for expansion, which would greatly increase the employment force," says Jeff Butler of Ervin Development Corp.

The number of businesses in an area can impact economic health. The new flex tech center will help winchester ensure it's economy stays strong.
