Residents of Winchester have their last chance to voice any opinions on the city's future at the fourth and final public input session Tuesday night.
The event will be held from 6:30-9:00 PM in Frederick Douglass Elementary School. The public is welcome to join a group exercise in which attendees are asked to submit strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Winchester. All input from the sessions will be compiled by a consultant and presented to the planning commission and advisory committee to better the city's future.
Tim Youmans/Winchester Planning Director: "Really it's just an opportunity for them to identify what they feel are the strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats in the community. And then they'll break out into smaller groups perhaps four to eight people where they can look at a map of the city and highlight areas where they feel change is warrented as well as areas they feel we should preserve what we have."
Once agreements are selected...The planning commission will hold a formal public hearing before sending recommendations to city council.
