Stephens City continued their 250th anniversary celebration over the weekend with the 12th annual "Clems Cruise-In"
Hundreds of antiques, hot rods and other show cars filled the Newtown Commons.
A special part of this year's event was the dedication of a time capsule that will not be opened until the year 2058.
Several dignitaries were on hand for the celebration including Uncle Sam and the Town Crier.
Stephens City Mayor Ray Ewing says one of his hopes for the city is
that in fifty years, when the capsule is opened, some things will remain unchanged.
"I hope there will be a portion of the town, the core historic area of the town, still looking as it does today," said Ewing. "I know we have to grow, we are growing now. We annexed an area so we could grow."
All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Newtown Commons.
