It's not even February yet, but some people are already planning for Valentine's Day and adding a lot of love and appreciation.
While you might be planning to celebrate Valentine's Day with loved ones or a special some one... others are spending it away from home.
Those who are serving our Nation overseas right now, come to mind.
Because of this, Magnet nurses at Winchester Medical Center decided they wanted to help put smiles on soldiers faces. So they organized a drive to send cards like this, to troops overseas.
Bonnie Harvey's son served in Iraq for several months with the Marine Corps. She says it's projects like this that mean the most to soldiers.
"They really appreciated the boxes they received from strangers because that reaffirmed to them that people here in America, did actually know that they were there," said Harvey.
Carolyn Guinn is the program director of WMC Magnet.
"I've read a lot, they're great. Some of them are cute, will make you cry. We have ones that we made even of the nurses and a picture that we're sending over. But the ones from the children are just very heart touching and they're great," said Guinn.
For more than a month, nurses have been collecting cards from the hospital, families, schools and organizations.
They collected just over a thousand cards. They were sent over the weekend and now, they're in route to Georgia where they'll be sent with others to those serving.
WMC organized this greeting card drive through the organization "Hugs for Soldiers." The last day that organization will be collecting cards is Thursday, January 31.
Cards can be mailed to:
