This week Israel celebrated its 60th anniversary as a country. In honor of the occasion, there will be a special presentation on Friday evening at Beth El Congregation in Winchester.

"Israel At 60: What's Next?" will focus on the significance of the young state.

The discussion will include how Israel has evolved throughout the years, and celebrate the culture, history and people of Israel.

Israel is central to new technology, including the flash drive and the software for online instant messaging.

"There are a lot of things we use in our daily life that are Israeli, and we want to share that with the people and have everybody know and appreciate that," says Dana Ragosin, Israeli Emissary to the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond.

Ragosin's presentation begins at 8:00 on Friday evening.

An Israeli-style reception will be held afterwards.
