Have you bought a new cell phone lately?
Don't throw away the old one.
Liberty Tax Service in Winchester is collecting used cell phones to turn into phone cards for our troops overseas.
The program is called Cell Phones for Soldiers.
It was started by two Massachusetts teenagers.
Troops stationed in places like Iraq face excessive phone calling charges.
Liberty Tax Service is a national premier partner for the program, and has contributed to over 12 million minutes of calling time for our military.
"The rising cost of them being so far away, one telephone call is just outrageous," said Lena Barto of Liberty Tax Service.
"So if we could just all pitch in to do our part and keep them in mind, and keep them in our prayers, it's going to be important."
You can drop off your used cell phones at Liberty Tax Service roadside parties this weekend, and next weekend.
On Saturday, the party will take place outside of their Weems Lane location, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
