All you GPS users need to be careful about leaving your navigation systems in your car when they're not in use. These devices are a target for theft and cause car break-ins. Crime prevention specialists say owners should take the GPS systems out of the car when getting out.
"Make sure that you erase that little ring on your windshield that it leaves. Because that is also a dead give away that you have a GPS system," said Certified Crime Prevention Specialist Janice Hart.
Hart also says that owners shouldn't set their home destination to their actual home. If the GPS is stolen, the thief may take your garage door opener right to your home address. Crowded tourist areas are a popular spot for GPS theft.
