In this tough economy some local antique and vintage dealers have some great finds from as little as a few bucks to thousands of dollars. Some pieces even date back as far as the mid 1800's.
Alaya White a local Handley High School grad has traveled all over to find these unique treasures and some are even part of his family history. He works from a beautifully restored barn to bring some of these antiques a new life and to a new home. Not only are buying antiques good for your wallet but Alaya also says buying antiques are actually important for the environment.
"Breaking through that mental barrier of the stigma attached to old things and then learning to appreciate them functionally and aesthetically. It's important for our conserving resources," said Workshop Antiques and Vintage Owner Alaya White.
The antique shop will be open Saturday June 16 for their summer sale from 9-5. It is located at Willow Grove Farm near Meadow Branch on Merriam's Lane.
