Law-changing decisions are typically made 70 miles east of us in Washington, D.C.; but you might be surprised to learn of some of the decisions that have been made locally.
Several important decisions have been discussed and made at the Carter Hall Conference Center in Clarke County.
For instance, it was the site where a former Surgeon General discussed putting "Organ Donor" on drivers licenses.
It was also the site where it was decided to put warning labels on cigarettes.
Those decisions were all made at the Carter Hall Conference Center, which is a facility available to local groups and organizations.
Carter Hall is part of Project Hope, an international health opportunity organization. They want the community to know that their facilities and resources are available to utilize.
"At Project Hope, we have tremendous people resources, focusing on infectious diseases, women and child healthcare, and our staff can be made available to come up to Carter Hall and meet with the group and talk about those issues," said Victoria Wilson, Sales Coordinator for Cater Hall.
