Virginia Blood Services (VBS) celebrated its ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday for the Winchester Donor Center located at 333 W Cork street in suite 220. On hand were Valley Health and Winchester Medical Center staff, The Top of Virginia Chamber of Commerce; event coordinators and a number of other supporters and media.

As the local provider of blood for Valley Health hospitals, VBS relies 100% on volunteer blood donors and businesses/organizations to help meet local patient needs.

The donor center is open Monday thru Wednesday from 11am until 6 pm and Friday & Saturday from 7am until 2pm. Donors and donor groups are needed, especially during the summer months.
