Winchester Police want to make sure cars and walkers are watching out for each other as they travel through the city.

They say, more people use sidewalks in the summer, especially with kids out of school and the nice weather.

Here are a few things to keep in mind if you walk in Winchester:

Always use crosswalks. Look left, right, then left again before going across. Even if a driver signals for you to cross the street, still look around to make sure all lanes of traffic are clear first.

And for drivers...Remember to let walkers pass first in all crosswalks and intersections. Wait til they're at least one lane past yours before you could going. Never pass another vehicle that has stopped or is slowing down at a cross walk.
