Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!!

Greetings from the Sports Department.

Of late here at TV3 Winchester we have been obsessed with High School Football. Planning the expansion of End Zone has been a lot of fun, and I think our area will really enjoy the new product as we give the Northern Valley a little more time in the spotlight. Over the last week we have been doing previews (we'll continue right up to the 1st End Zone August 24th) and I really think the Northwestern District is going to be a very close race all the way through November. Bottom line is I can't WAIT for football to start. These last few weeks of August before the season kicks off are the hardest, because you KNOW football is just around the corner... but the days drag on as we get closer. I've got quite a few road trips planned this Fall and of course they all revolve around the gridiron...

Sept 16 - Buffalo Bills @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Sept 23 - Arizona Cardinals @ Baltimore Ravens

Sept 30 - New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills

Nov 17 - Miami @ Virginia Tech

Dec 2 - Buffalo Bills @ Washington Redskins

Dec 23 - New York Giants @ Buffalo Bills

As you can probably guess the Bills are my squad, although I think this is going to be a tough year as the injury/suspension bug has already hit their defensive line, and they have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. The offense should be much improved, but the defense could struggle to replace some big free agent losses. In college, USC looks to be the odds on favorite to win the national title... as a Trojan fan that makes me nervous, because it means the let down if the Boys from Troy don't win it all will be huge. After the loss against Texas to start 06' and last Fall's loss to UCLA that kept them out of the title game, I don't know if I can handle another USC letdown (I know, I know, things have been good for USC...but the heartbreak still stings).

Our poll question this week is... Which area high school football team do you think will win the most games this fall?

Vote early and often, to see if you can get your school to the top... so far Sherando seems to have a commanding lead... but as they say, ANYTHING can happen!!!!

See you on FRIDAYS!!!!

Why don't you visit some other college football games? Say, UVA? JMU?
