Semi Pro opened across the nation this weekend making $15.08 million dollars just this weekend. Starring Will Ferrell, André Benjamin, Woody Harrelson, and Maura Tierney, Semi Pro is about Jackie Moon....owner, coach, and player of the ABA ’s Michigan Flint Tropics. In order for the Tropics to be one of the four teams of the ABA to merge into the NBA, they have to make at least fourth place in there whole league.

                        Well, yet another Will Ferrell movie has been allowed to surface the box office top ten charts. Semi Pro is a laugh out loud movie...when Ferrell is in the scene. Every time that he isn’t in a scene the movie seems to become too serious, and you find yourself asking, “is this a comedy?” then Ferrell enters back into the picture and then the question is answered, yes. Other than the two commentators there really isn’t anybody else that is funny. But as usual, just about anything that Will Ferrell does is funny, and this movie is no exception. His comedy makes up for everyone else who lacks a good sense of humor. Definitely worth the $9 it now takes to get into the theater.

                        So, in closing, Semi Pro gets 4 kernels of popcorn just because I like it that much. I would have given it 5 out of 5 if the cast had people like Steve Carrell, John Caparulo, someone funny, not serious actors that aren’t known for comedy.
