Queens have come and queens have gone. Some queens have remained fixated in our minds and lets be honest, some queens have been forgotten. The 81st Queen Shenandoah Jaqui Rice will absolutely be one of our most popular Queens and I am sure we will be speaking of her presence here in Winchester for decades to come. I had the honor of meeting Jaqui Rice for the Queen's Reception Dinner held the Wednesday evening before Apple Blossom. Not only looking beautiful and elegant, Queen Jaqui Rice presented a level of confidence and sweetness combined that made her a promising legend here in Winchester even before the start of her reign. Before any questions were asked she wanted to acknowledge the tragedy that severe weather left in Southeastern Virginia two days ago. A unexpected and classy move by far. She was tickled to death by the invitation to be the Queen of the Apple Blossom Festival and completely humble, another example of her extremely pleasant demeanor. Jaqui Rice impressed me to no end. A junior at the prestigious Georgetown University, Jaqui is double majoring in Government and Spanish with a concentration in International Relations, with plans to pursue a career in International Relations on the West Coast when she finishes up school. Not only smart and breathtakingly beautiful, Jaqui is extremely talented. A dancer, singer, songwriter, Winchester is lucky to be catching Jaqui on the way up. The summer of 2008, her album "Luv N Life" is set to be released and with her single "Rev It Up" already making airtime on the radio throughout the South, her album will be no disappointment. Check out the video of her single "Rev It Up" featuring David Banner below. Well worth the watch!

I totally agree with you Ricky. No offense to any queen we have had but I also say, Ricky I could not say it better. Whose Apple Blossom is this? It belongs to the citizens of this area. Posted by: RICKY Location: winchester Lauryn, First I would like to say I think you do a great job for tv3. As for the Apple Blossem Queen I have always thought that the Queen should be some one from our area that has done something special in school, work or for our comunity.Someone like this is who I think should be the Queen. Its the same as Grand Marshels I think it should be some one from here that has done special deeds, May be I'm Old School but I'd rather see a young boy or girl from our area that hasen't got alot ,and some one Winchester knows have this Honer than I would someone that has everything and most people don't know Posted by: jake Location: winchester virginia thats cool that she was the queen |
