Like many local residents, I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the George Washington Hotel. I was estatic last week when I received a phone call from them, saying that they were ready to do a "sneak peek" story. Today, they officially opened, with a grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting.

I could go on and on about how incredible this property is, but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and I know it will really be a huge asset to Winchester. I used to work in tourism, and I know just how big of a demand there is for unique, local, upscale hotels like this one. I have no doubt this place will stay packed for years to come!

Definitely go by there when you get a chance. One of my favorite details are the large framed picture collages of the hotel in year's past. There is a giant one that shows apple blossom celebrities who have stayed at the hotel. The Apple Blossom Festival has quite a history with the hotel, as that used to be their office headquarters, and many events were held there. I'm sure many events will be held there in years to come!
