Two quarters down and two more to go. Everyone, including myself, has already started to count down until summer! Seniors are getting acceptance letters, getting cases of senioritis, and planning for a beach week. As the days pass, the seniors are sporting clothing for their soon-to-be schools. For me, I’ve been wearing a good bit of orange and maroon. But the blue and gold still fills the halls especially since the new student store, “J Dubs,” has opened.
After we had barely returned from winter break Mother Nature delivered a belated holiday gift. We missed two days of school last week due to snow! (And we already had two days prescheduled, so we had a six day weekend.) Boy, it was nice to get to sleep in for a few days, but it was rough getting up for the rest of the week!
Despite the school closings, the winter sports teams have been out playing, swimming, wrestling and running against rival schools. The colonels this season are winning games and meets left and right. The games are anything but boring! Fans fill the stands for home games with blue and gold and cheer loudly. Many students in swimming and indoor track have already qualified for the regional and state meets. Hopefully we can continue with our winning streaks and advance to regional and state competitions!!
