Hi Race Fans,
It's time again for the NASCAR forecast!! (Other race series to follow.) I hope you all are having a lovely winter. The big topic here in Virginia is the lack of winter, which is fine with me! (We like to blame La Nina.)
Here are the forecasts for this weekend's NASCAR activities:
Camping World Truck Series: Daytona on Friday (2/24) at 7 p.m. ET on SPEED. Friday is looking like a nice and warm day in Daytona. Look for sunshine along with some clouds and a bit breezy. The afternoon high will approach 86 degrees. At race time, look for a temperature around 74 degrees.
Nationwide Series: Daytona on Saturday (2/25) at Noon ET on ESPN. A cold front will cross the area late Friday night, leading to some cooler conditions on Saturday. Look for a mix of sun and clouds with an afternoon high temperature only around 65 degrees. This will be about 20 degrees cooler than qualifying conditions on Friday.
Sprint Cup Series: Daytona on Sunday (2/26) at Noon ET on FOX. Starting with the Gatorade Duel today (Thursday), the weather will be warm and breezy. Afternoon temps will climb to around 84 degrees under a partly cloudy sky. Conditions will continue to be nice on Friday for practice. More of the same with a mix of sun and clouds and the afternoon temperature rising to the mid 80s. For Saturday morning practice, conditions will be different in terms of temperature. Behind a cold front, the temperature will only be in the lower 60s for practice. On race day, look for partly to mostly cloudy conditions. Due to an easterly component to the wind, I'm going to include a 30% chance of those pesky hit or miss showers. The temperature will be around 70 degrees.
