Here are the forecasts for this weekend's NASCAR activities:
NASCAR Nationwide Series - Richmond on Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. It is going to be hot and humid in Richmond on Friday as high pressure briefly takes control. The temperature will soar to 92 degrees in the afternoon. By race time, it will be partly cloudy with a temperature near 86 degrees.
NASCAR Sprint Cup - Richmond on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on TV3 (ABC). It will be hot and humid for qualifying on Friday afternoon with a temperature in the lower 90s. Saturday will still be warm and humid, but a cold front will approach from the northwest. The afternoon temperature will reach a high of 88 degrees as the day starts out with some sunshine. Skies will cloud up into the afternoon. There is a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms as the front moves in. I think the best threat of storms will be between 2 and 7 p.m., but some showers could linger into the night. The temperature at race time will be around 81 degrees.
Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series - Laguna Seca on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on SPEED. Look for a cool start in the morning with some low clouds and fog. By the afternoon the sun will come out, and the temperature will be around 70 degrees.
