Race Forecasts 6/28

Here are the forecasts for this weekend's race activities:

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series - Kentucky on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET on SPEED.  Get ready for dangerously high temperatures in Kentucky this weekend.  Plenty of sunshine Thursday will allow the temperature to soar close to 100 degrees.  I'm not sure you'll feel much relief at the start of the race, but at least the sun angle will be lower.  A temperature near 96 degrees is expected at the green flag.

NASCAR Nationwide Series - Kentucky on Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN 2.  It will be very hot again on Friday under sunshine.  As a weak disturbance nears the area Friday afternoon, a few thunderstorms are possible.  There's a 30% chance of storms between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.  The temperature will top out in the upper 90's in the afternoon.  At race time, don't expect it to be much better... the temp will be near 93 degrees.

NASCAR Sprint Cup - Kentucky on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET on TNT.  Provided no thunderstorms pop up Friday afternoon, it will be a steamy qualifying session with sunshine and temperature around 99 degrees.  And that heat will continue on Saturday.  It will approach 100 degrees with sunshine.  There's a 20% of a storm.  For the race, look for the temp to be around 96 degrees.

Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series - Watkins Glen on Sunday at 11 a.m. ET on SPEED.  Well, Watkins Glen my be the coolest race venue this weekend, but it's still going to be warm.  Look for a mostly sunny sky on Sunday for the 6 hour race.  The temperature will be around 80 degrees at the start of the race.  Look for it to rise to 87 through the afternoon.
